Man Killed in Shooting at Auto Repair Shop in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A man was fatally shot Monday inside an auto repair shop in the Galaxias del Carmen neighborhood, authorities said.

Witnesses reported that two suspects on a motorcycle arrived at the shop and opened fire on the victim multiple times before fleeing. The man died at the scene before paramedics could provide medical assistance or transport him to a hospital.

According to sources at the scene, the victim was believed to be an assistant to the shop’s owner.

Investigators and forensic experts from the State Prosecutor’s Office arrived later to process the crime scene and collect evidence.

Municipal police officers launched a large-scale operation in the area to locate the attackers but have not yet made any arrests.
