Cancún, Mexico — A man was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head on the stairs of a building in the Pasos del Mar subdivision on Isla Galápagos street, near Lakin Avenue.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Saturday when neighbors alerted emergency services after finding the man lying on the ground and apparently lifeless. The area was cordoned off by authorities to carry out the corresponding investigative procedures.
Paramedics from the Red Cross arrived on the scene and confirmed that the victim still showed signs of life, although his condition was critical. They immediately provided first aid and, with the support of officers, transported him on a stretcher to an ambulance for an urgent transfer to a hospital.
Municipal police secured the area, and agents from the Investigative Police and forensic experts later arrived to carry out the corresponding procedures and collect evidence.
Uncertainty Surrounds the Case
Neighbors in the area told authorities they did not hear any gunshots and did not recognize the injured man as a resident of the subdivision. This situation creates uncertainty about where the attack occurred and whether the victim arrived at the location on his own or was abandoned there.
Authorities are maintaining the scene under guard. It is expected that investigations by the Attorney General's Office will determine the circumstances of the attack, as well as the identity of the man and any possible suspects. No arrests have been confirmed at this time.
