A man was discovered dead in his yard in the Puerto Maya district of Puerto Aventuras on Sunday morning. The incident was reported around 11 am at the intersection of Chechén and Ciricote streets.
Local residents, who had ventured into their backyards that morning, found the man’s body and immediately alerted the authorities. The Municipal Police confirmed the discovery after gaining access to the property through an adjoining house.
Prior to his death, neighbors reported that the man had been consuming alcohol for several hours and playing loud music.
Officials from the State Attorney General’s Office arrived on the scene to oversee the removal of the body and its subsequent transfer to the Forensic Medical Service.
If it is confirmed that the man died by suicide, this would mark the 20th such incident in the Solidaridad municipality this year.
