Quintana Roo — Six major business and tourism organizations have formed a coalition called “Mujeres Exitosas” (Successful Women) to transform women’s leadership in the Mexican Caribbean state’s business sector.
The unprecedented agreement creates a strategic alliance designed to reshape the labor and executive landscape in southeastern Mexico through networking, high-level training, and specialized mentorship programs.
Key Signatories and Strategic Network
The document was signed by six women who will serve as “Honorary Associates,” creating an influential network spanning hospitality, vacation clubs, public relations, and global business:
- Liliana Deniss Montiel Cruz, Legal Representative and President of AMEXME Cancún Chapter
- María Eugenia Moreno Orozco, Vice President of Skål México
- Irma Elida Alviso Rentería, President of Skål Isla Mujeres – Puerto Morelos
- Addy Gamboa, Legal Representative and President of ARPCM (Public Relations and Communication)
- Iliana Zuzuaguerri, Director of AFEET Quintana Roo
- Claudia Liliana Villuendas Mar, Director of ACOTUR
Long-Term Commitment and Agenda
The agreement has an indefinite term, ensuring that professionalization and leadership development efforts become permanent institutional policy rather than temporary administrative actions.
The coalition’s agenda includes:
- High-level forums and workshops focused on providing technical tools and soft skills to emerging leaders
- Regular strategy meetings to design gender-perspective projects that directly impact member companies’ policies
- Sustainability initiatives linking women’s empowerment with responsible tourism industry development
“This agreement isn’t an endpoint but a solid foundation to promote necessary dialogue. We seek the personal and professional growth of those who currently sustain much of our state’s economy, ensuring their voice carries appropriate weight in the industry,” said Deniss Montiel, President of AMEXME Cancún.
Impact on Business Ecosystem
The union of organizations including AMEXME (women entrepreneurs), AFEET (tourism company executives), Skål (global tourism leadership), ARPCM (strategic communication), and ACOTUR (vacation sector) creates unprecedented synergy in the state.
The coalition aims to position Quintana Roo not only as a world-renowned natural beauty destination but also as a cutting-edge location committed to ethics, equal opportunity, and corporate social responsibility. With “Mujeres Exitosas” now operational, women’s leadership in the Mexican Caribbean transitions from aspiration to structural engine of change and professionalization.
