Cancún, Quintana Roo — Civil society organizations and LGBTQ+ groups have unveiled the “Pride Route Quintana Roo 2026,” an unprecedented initiative to unite the movement across the Mexican Caribbean and Maya region, extending activities beyond major tourist hubs.
The project, led by the Cancún Pride collective, features a calendar of events under the slogan “One state, many voices, one fight,” aiming to generate permanent visibility and reinforce demands for rights and inclusion throughout the state.
Organizers said the route represents more than marches or celebrations, serving as a platform for social and political activism to reach communities where the movement’s presence has historically been limited. The hashtag #ExistimosTodoElAño (We Exist All Year) underscores the constant struggle for equality.
Spokespeople highlighted that the initiative also aims to make these spaces accessible to people unable to travel to larger cities, strengthening community and belonging across Quintana Roo.
The Pride Route will launch on May 16 in Cancún and continue for three months through various municipalities, marking a historic tour to bring color, identity, and resistance to every corner of the state.
The schedule includes the following dates:
- May 16 in Cancún
- May 23 in Lázaro Cárdenas
- June 6 in Isla Mujeres and José María Morelos
- June 13 in Puerto Morelos
- June 20 in Cozumel
- June 27 in Puerto Aventuras
- June 28 in Playa del Carmen
- July 4 in Felipe Carrillo Puerto for the closing event
