Chemuyil, Quintana Roo — Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo reaffirmed his administration’s hands-on governance approach during a working visit to the community of Chemuyil on July 18. The visit, part of a broader strategy to strengthen ties with local residents, included inspections of public spaces, direct dialogue with citizens, and immediate responses to community needs.

Accompanied by municipal directors and council members, Castañón began his tour at the community’s delegation headquarters, where he met with administrative staff to assess operational challenges. After hearing concerns about inadequate equipment, the mayor directed officials to address the shortages to improve service delivery.
The delegation then proceeded to Chemuyil’s sports field, where Castañón discussed infrastructure upgrades with youth coaches and athletes. Moisés Muñoz, Director of Sports and Youth, joined the conversation as residents highlighted needs for better lighting, maintenance, and sports equipment.

The visit concluded at the recently renovated local health clinic, where residents raised issues about inconsistent medical services.
