Tulum, Mexico — The hosting of international electronic music festivals continues to position Tulum as one of the world’s most important destinations for such events, generating significant economic spillover, international projection, and opportunities for various local sectors.

This was highlighted by municipal president Diego Castañón Trejo, who emphasized the impact of the Zamna Festival, which in this edition featured a performance by the Australian group RÜFÜS DU SOL, one of the most globally recognized acts in electronic music.

According to the mayor, events of this magnitude not only attract thousands of national and international visitors but also boost the local economy through increased hotel occupancy, restaurant consumption, transportation, the hiring of tourism services, and the generation of temporary jobs.

“Tulum is once again making noise worldwide with these types of festivals. They generate economic spillover, international positioning, and opportunities for the population. From the municipal government, we work to ensure they develop with order, adequate services, and a good experience for both visitors and residents,” he stated.

Municipal authorities reported that, in a coordinated manner, security, mobility, public services, and tourist assistance operations were implemented to guarantee the event’s development under appropriate conditions and minimize impacts on the city.

Zamna Group Profile

Zamna Group is a company originally from Tulum specializing in the production and organization of international electronic music events. Founded with the vision of fusing music, nature, and culture, Zamna has managed to consolidate one of the world’s most recognized festivals, attracting top-level artists and thousands of attendees each year.

The Zamna Festival is characterized by being held in natural settings of the Mayan jungle, with high-level audiovisual production and musical curation that includes the main exponents of the global electronic scene. Thanks to its growth, Zamna Group has expanded its presence to other countries, bringing its concept to international stages and positioning Tulum as a world reference for musical tourism.

Municipal authorities emphasized that these types of events represent a challenge in terms of organization and regulation, but also a strategic opportunity for the municipality’s economic and tourism development, as long as a balance is maintained between growth, order, and respect for the natural environment.
