Cancún Drug Bust: Major Seizure of Narcotics

Cancún, Mexico — In a coordinated action between the National Guard, the State Attorney General’s Office, and the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security and Transit of Benito Juárez, an individual was arrested for his alleged involvement in crimes against health, specifically drug dealing.

The events occurred during preventative patrols and surveillance as part of the “Blindaje Cancún” operation in the vicinity of Superblock 102. Security personnel detected a person handling small bags containing an apparent substance resembling marijuana next to an idling Honda motorcycle.

Following a security inspection, authorities seized 20 small plastic bags containing dry herb with characteristics similar to marijuana, eight transparent plastic bags containing a white powder with characteristics similar to cocaine, five bags containing solid crystalline fragments with characteristics of the alkaloid known as crystal, and 97 bags containing the drug known as rock. A gram scale and a motorcycle were also seized.

Given the situation, Ismael “N”, a 35-year-old male, was detained and turned over to the State Attorney General’s Office for the corresponding legal proceedings.
