Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A motorcyclist working for the company Playa Park sustained serious injuries Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a taxi that fled the scene.
According to initial reports, the worker, whose job involved removing locks from public streets, was hit by the vehicle. The impact threw him violently to the ground, causing significant injuries.
Witnesses to the accident could provide little information, as no one managed to identify the taxi or the driver responsible.
Co-workers from the same company arrived at the location, removed the motorcycle, and accompanied the injured man as he was rushed to a hospital.
The responsible driver, meanwhile, disappeared into traffic, leaving more questions than answers.
