Chetumal, MX — Intense rainfall recorded in recent months has caused the appearance of potholes on at least 345 kilometers of streets, acknowledged the councilman and president of the Public Works and Services Commission of the Othón P. Blanco Municipality. He confirmed that crews are now addressing the damage as the presence of meteorological systems has decreased.
He stated that, in response to citizen requests, a squad of at least 35 municipal workers divided into three routes has been tasked with repairing potholes while the diagnostic assessment of the city’s streets continues.
In a brief interview, he recalled that a prior diagnostic on the condition of the streets indicated that at least 345 kilometers of roads would be affected by potholes, and this figure was updated in recent months following the rains.
The second councilman in the capital city’s council insisted that the pothole repair program is constant and permanent, taking advantage of the decreased frequency of rain.
