TULUM — Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa announced that, following a meeting with the director of the Grupo Mundo Maya, General Adolfo Héctor Tonatiuh Velasco, an agreement has been reached to guarantee free and total access to the beaches of Tulum, addressing one of the principal demands of the local population.

During the meeting, the state leader and the Grupo Mundo Maya team agreed to move forward with definitive solutions to the concerns of residents. In this regard, Lezama reported that two access points are currently available: the first, a pedestrian access through Playa Mangle in the southern zone; and the second, through Parque El Jaguar, with free entry for all residents of Tulum who present an official identification.

“This is only the beginning. We will continue working tirelessly to guarantee that both locals and visitors can enjoy the natural beauty that Quintana Roo offers,” the governor stated, emphasizing that public access to beaches is a right that must be respected and strengthened.

Furthermore, she thanked the Grupo Mundo Maya for its willingness and commitment to moving forward jointly for the benefit of the collective well-being.

With this measure, the state government seeks to reinforce social justice and the certainty that the natural spaces of Quintana Roo belong to everyone.
