Cozumel, Quintana Roo — The night of Friday, September 6, the Fundación de Parques y Museos de Cozumel (FPMC) inaugurated the pictorial exhibition "Alma de Agua" (Soul of Water), the second individual show by artist Leydi Marí, known as "Hilariana," who shared with the community and visitors a collection of works inspired by the force, fluidity, and symbolism of the vital liquid.
The cultural evening took place at the Museo de la Isla de Cozumel and was led by the director of the venue, Isela Carrillo Cupul; the FPMC councilor, Alejandro Franco; and the museographer Satoko Kitamura, who accompanied the creator at the official opening.
With emotion, Hilariana thanked the FPMC for the opportunity to exhibit again at the Museum, a space she described as a point of cultural encounter between the local community and national and international visitors.
"Water teaches us to flow in life; in every stroke I sought to reflect its forms, its reflections, and the emotions it awakens," expressed the artist while presenting the 40 paintings that make up 20 unique works.
On behalf of the FPMC's general director, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, a recognition was presented to the painter for choosing the Museo de la Isla as a platform to disseminate her talent.
During the event, it was highlighted that the venue is consolidating itself as a space open to diverse artistic and cultural expressions, in line with the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa.
