Explore 4 Exciting New Areas in Cancun Park

This week, Cancun Park welcomed the opening of four new themed areas. These spaces are designed to encourage family gatherings, foster community bonds, and promote peace.

The first of these is the Parkour Garden, a training ground for young Liam Ponce, a medal-winning parkour athlete who will represent Quintana Roo in Japan.

The second is the Unknown Mexico Walk, which features a photo gallery showcasing various locations throughout the Mexican Republic.

The third space is the Museum of the Unwasted Waste. Here, an eco-bricks project is underway, led by young people who recycle waste into eco-friendly benches.

Finally, the Quintana Roo History Corridor provides a historical overview of the region.

The opening of these spaces was marked by a tour attended by various government officials. Among them were the Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, and the Municipal President of Benito Juarez, Ana Patricia Peralta de la Peña. They were joined by Fernando Orozco, the regional director of Yucatan and Mexican Caribbean of the CONANP.

Governor Mara Lezama spoke about the importance of these new spaces, saying, "Cancun Park is now a place for coexistence, learning, and integration. It's a place where families, young people, and friends can come together to enjoy and reflect on the importance of nature. This environment gives us the chance to reconnect with ourselves and our surroundings, strengthening our community ties and addressing the roots of violence."
