Ferrari claimed victory in the Mexico City Grand Prix after a tumultuous 71 laps on the Hermanos Rodríguez circuit. This marked their first win in Mexico since Formula 1's return to the country nine years ago. Carlos Sainz, driving for Ferrari, took the top spot in the twentieth race of the calendar, which was marred by a tough day for Red Bull due to multiple penalties.

Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, driving the second Ferrari, joined Sainz on the podium. The Grand Prix proved costly for Red Bull, who managed to salvage a sixth-place finish with Max Verstappen after receiving up to 20 seconds of penalties for on-track incidents. These same incidents caused Sergio Perez, also known as Checo, to lose the five places he had gained at the start due to a false start. This setback hampered the Mexican driver's chances at his home Grand Prix, resulting in a seventeenth-place finish and maintaining his eighth position in the world championship with 150 points.

Despite gaining eight points from Verstappen, Red Bull's total of 512 points saw them slip to third place in the championship. McLaren remains in the lead after scoring 19 points, bringing their total to 567 with four races remaining in the season. Ferrari's victory makes them the third team to win in Mexico City since Formula 1's return in 2015, breaking Red Bull's streak of three consecutive victories with Verstappen.

The Grand Prix circuit does not pause, with the São Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil scheduled for the following Sunday.
