Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Coordinating Council of Businesswomen (CCME) in Quintana Roo has announced a Father’s Day charity run for 2026, with proceeds benefiting seniors at the DIF Cancún and women entrepreneurs through training programs.
Mercedes Hernández, president of the CCME in Quintana Roo, said the funds will provide specialized dental care for seniors through the Voz Dental clinic, including clinical evaluations, cleanings, extractions, and dentures to improve their health and quality of life.
Part of the proceeds will also go toward scholarships for women entrepreneurs from low-income backgrounds, enabling them to participate in the CCME’s Fortalezza training program.
“Today we have more than 300 graduates of this program, called Fortalezza, which is now in its eighth generation. The training covers marketing, business controls, registration regimes, basic accounting — a general foundation so they can start their own businesses,” Hernández explained.
The race will take place on Sunday, June 28, starting at 7 a.m. at Malecón Tajamar. The registration fee is 350 pesos per runner, which includes a T-shirt, race number, and a finisher’s medal. The course is 5 kilometers for adults and 200 meters for children.
“The council invites the general public to join this race and support this noble cause that aims to improve the quality of life for those who need it most, while also strengthening female entrepreneurial development in our community,” Hernández said.
Claudia Najera Montoya, director of Voz Dental, noted that the initiative combines sports, family, and social commitment. “Oral health not only impacts a person’s health, but also directly influences their self-esteem and emotional well-being,” she said.
