Chetumal – With the goal of ensuring that families in priority situations do not suffer from the cold during this winter season, the DIF Quintana Roo system has launched the annual blanket and cover drive “Abrigando Corazones 2025.” The initiative is led by the honorary president, Verónica Lezama Espinosa, who received the first donations from the groups that make up the DIF State Volunteer Corps.
During the launch, Verónica Lezama emphasized that this drive is an event that unites the efforts of volunteers, civil society, and the State Government to gather blankets and covers that will be delivered to the population in communities with the highest priority throughout the state.
She indicated that the goal is to surpass the 2,400 covers collected last year, calling on citizens, the business sector, and public agencies to join this noble cause.
Furthermore, she noted that the collected items will be promptly distributed to localities and municipalities with the highest priority, with special attention to girls, boys, elderly people, and people with disabilities, to prevent them from facing health risks during the winter.
Donations of blankets and covers can be delivered at the central building of DIF Quintana Roo located at Avenida Adolfo López Mateos No. 441; at the Northern Zone Representation in Cancún, Region 94, Av. 115 super block 111 between streets 28 and 36; Central Zone Representation at Av. 115 between streets 13 and 15 South Plaza Isla Ceiba Forjadores; and at the 11 Municipal DIF Systems.
The Honorary President reiterated the invitation to the entire population to participate in this drive, which began today and will continue until January 2026, reminding that these actions contribute to improving the quality of life for the most priority sectors.
Finally, she underscored that one of the commitments of the government led by Governor Mara Lezama is the reconstruction of the social fabric, so that Quintana Roo becomes an inclusive state with well-being, development, and without inequality.
