A man and a woman have been detained by the Investigation Police in Tulum, following the issuance of an arrest warrant for the sexual assault of a minor. The individuals, identified as Ismael “N” and Cindy Cristel “N”, are alleged to have committed the crime due to their close familial relationship with the minor.
The arrest took place on Prolongación Centauro Street, located in the Invasión 2 de Octubre neighborhood of Tulum.
Preliminary investigations led by the Special Prosecutor's Office for Combatting Crimes Against Women and Sexual Crimes suggest that Ismael “N” repeatedly assaulted the minor. Cindy Cristel “N” is said to have initially moved the victim to live with her grandmother in the municipality of Benito Juárez, only to later return her to Tulum, where she was once again assaulted by Ismael.
Following the necessary legal procedures, Ismael “N” was transferred to the Municipal Detention Center of Solidaridad, while Cindy Cristel “N” was sent to the Social Reintegration Center of Benito Juárez. Their legal fate will be determined by the requesting authority within the constitutionally provided timeframe.
