Cancún, January 6 — An altercation involving a couple and their pet caused the delay of a flight to Cancún after they verbally and physically assaulted the crew, other travelers, and members of the Mexican Navy (Semar).

The conflict began when an employee of Viva Aerobús accidentally touched the passengers’ dog, who were seated in the first row.

According to testimonies from other travelers, the animal’s owner reacted aggressively to the worker’s carelessness, shouting and making threats.

Despite attempts by the cabin crew to calm the situation, the man persisted in his hostile attitude, forcing the captain to return the aircraft to the ground to request the intervention of federal authorities.

After a wait of approximately 40 minutes, Navy personnel boarded the plane to remove those involved.

The tension increased when the couple resisted removal while the rest of the passengers demanded they leave the unit so the journey could continue.

In a moment of irritation, the woman accompanying the subject threw a cup of hot chocolate toward the people in the back rows.

Finally, security personnel managed to remove the couple from the aircraft, allowing the flight to resume its route to the Mexican Caribbean.

So far, it has not been reported whether those involved will face legal charges or if they have been blacklisted by the airline due to their violent behavior on board.
