TULUM — Users of the public health system in the municipality have reported alleged failures in medical care at the IMSS Bienestar program hospital, citing prolonged waiting times and a lack of response from staff.

According to testimony from one patient, she arrived at the hospital around 3:00 p.m. for a pre-assigned appointment but stated that more than four hours passed without her receiving a consultation. She indicated that other patients also experienced similar delays that continued throughout the afternoon.

According to the reports, the situation worsened after 5:00 p.m., when the flow of service decreased considerably, leaving several people waiting without clear information about the reasons for the delay.

The complainants indicated that when they requested guidance, the staff's response was limited. They suggested only the possibility of filing a formal complaint, without offering immediate alternatives to resolve the situation.

This situation has generated discontent among patients and their families, who question the hospital's responsiveness and the conditions under which the service is provided. The testimonies consistently highlight the need to improve waiting times and ensure proper treatment in a system that, for many, represents the only option for accessing medical services.

These complaints add to recurring reports of deficiencies in public health care in the region, in a context where the demand for services continues to rise.
