COZUMEL, QRoo — As part of efforts to control the island's cat overpopulation, a Cat Café has opened, offering a space where visitors can interact with felines while enjoying a beverage.

The establishment, which is about to celebrate its one-year anniversary, is located within the facilities of the Sociedad Humanitaria, an organization that functions as a shelter for abandoned animals.

The manager, Sara Pietrogiovanna Ríos, stated that all proceeds from the Cat Café are invested in supplies for the shelter, as they do not have a fixed source of funding for the animals in their care.

Pietrogiovanna Ríos invited the public to visit the location and give the cats an opportunity to find a home. The café is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

For more information and contact details, the establishment can be found on Facebook under the name #CatCaféCozumel.
