Cancun Prepares Gastronomic Pavilion and Fair for 2026 Carnival

Officials preparing the gastronomic pavilion and fair for the Cancun Carnival 2026 at Tajamar

Cancun, Mexico — Officials are preparing a gastronomic pavilion and fair for the Cancun Carnival 2026, set to run from February 12 to 17 with at least 75 exhibitors.

The Directorate of Commerce and Street Services is organizing the setup at Tajamar, which will serve as the main venue for the festivities. The Palapas Park will host commemorative events, including the crowning of the carnival kings.

José Gamaliel Canto Cambranis, head of the department, said logistics at Tajamar will maintain a similar flow to last year, working closely with the Secretariat of Well-being, which oversees the artisan pavilion and municipal entrepreneur registry.

Strict Pricing Rules and Safety Measures

The municipal administration has implemented a strict rule requiring all vendors to display prices clearly to consumers, a policy carried over from successful Christmas village events. Canto Cambranis emphasized that this regulation aims to provide transparency and build trust with attendees, and no food or merchandise vendor will be allowed to operate without a visible price list.

Under the same social benefit policy, fair operators have agreed to keep amusement ride costs accessible, ranging from 30 to 50 pesos, to allow more families to enjoy the celebration.

The directorate is also holding working meetings with vendors to rigorously supervise safety standards for attractions, prioritizing user safety at all times.

Cleanliness and Security Operations

Daily cleaning operations will start at 8:00 a.m. to ensure Tajamar remains spotless, though vendors are responsible for cleaning their areas at the end of each day.

The city council will deploy six inspectors strategically in the gastronomic and fair zones to address any incidents promptly during peak hours.
