The Sports Institute of Cancún, led by General Director Alejandro Luna López, has collaborated with Romina Aguilar Muñoz, the President and Founder of Equinos Contigo, to establish the first adapted riding team in the municipality. The goal is to enhance access to equine therapies through adapted sport. This project has the backing of the Municipal President, Ana Paty Peralta, and aims to be a beacon of inclusion. It will provide support for individuals with various disabilities, offering tools for their physical, emotional, and social development.
Equinos Contigo, based in Hacienda Santa Lucía, currently works with 36 young individuals and has an adapted riding team of five children. This partnership is expected to extend the program's reach and create the first municipal adapted riding school. The school will provide a space that fosters inclusion, professionalism, and hope for more families.
Alejandro Luna López expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with Equinos Contigo. He said, "We are eager to create a space where all children can reach their full potential. This project not only promotes adapted riding but also reiterates our dedication to inclusion and community wellbeing, a priority of our Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta."
Romina Aguilar Muñoz also expressed her commitment to the project, stating, "Equinos Contigo is open to all families. We encourage parents to come forward. The first step is to conduct an evaluation to determine the best method for each child. We operate from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., always committed to providing personalized and professional care."
This partnership signifies a historic milestone for adapted sport in the municipality, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with institutions dedicated to inclusion and diversity. In Benito Juárez, we say 'Yes' to Sport 24/7, as Cancún Unites Us for Transformation.
