Police officers arresting a suspect in Cancún

Cancún, Mexico — Police arrested a private clinic doctor in Cancún on sexual assault charges after he allegedly assaulted a patient while she was under the influence of medication.

Investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office identified the suspect as Bernardo “N,” 41, originally from Mexico City. Authorities allege he assaulted a 35-year-old woman at a clinic in Supermanzana 311, taking advantage of his position as her physician while she was medicated.

The arrest followed a warrant issued by a judge after the victim filed a formal complaint and provided sufficient evidence. Police investigators executed the arrest warrant and turned the doctor over to judicial authorities, where his legal status will be determined in coming hours.

In a separate development, the State Prosecutor’s Office announced five additional arrests in Othón P. Blanco municipality last week on sexual assault-related charges. Those detained include:

  • Federico, 52, accused of sexually abusing and raping a 10-year-old boy
  • Israel, 54, accused of sexually abusing his 6-year-old stepdaughter
  • José Antonio, 23, and Bianca Vianey, 39, the victim’s mother, both accused of raping a 15-year-old adolescent
  • Luis Fernando, 27, accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old adolescent

All arrests were made under judicial warrants as part of ongoing investigations into sexual crimes against women, children, and adolescents in Quintana Roo state.
