Cancun, Quintana Roo — Residents of Cancun’s Supermanzana 200 neighborhood made a gruesome discovery Monday after noticing a foul odor emanating from a blue drum in a green area.
Upon approaching the container, they spotted a human foot protruding from it and immediately called emergency services at 911.
Police officers arrived at the scene and activated the code red protocol, cordoning off the area. The body was found in an advanced state of decomposition.
Authorities have not released further details at this time.
