CANCÚN, MX — The body of a man was located on Thursday afternoon in the Region 104 neighborhood, approximately 200 meters from the intersection of José López Portillo and Nichupté avenues, beside a warehouse belonging to the company Sabritas.
The victim, estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old with a medium build and dark complexion, was found wrapped in plastic bags and abandoned in a green area, according to initial reports.
Unofficially, it was reported that a passerby noticed the bundle and, upon observing something suspicious, alerted the 911 emergency number.
Minutes later, Municipal and State Police officers arrived to cordon off the area and request the presence of forensic specialists from the State Attorney General's Office, who will be responsible for the removal of the body and the corresponding investigative procedures.
This discovery follows another lifeless body reported during the morning on the mainland portion of Isla Mujeres, where a man who was clearing land found a corpse with its feet and hands bound.
