Authorities Dismantle Drug Greenhouse in Lázaro Cárdenas, Quintana Roo

Seized firearms, ammunition and tactical gear displayed by the Quintana Roo Prosecutor's Office after two raids in Lázaro Cárdenas.

Kantunilkín, Quintana Roo — State prosecutors, working with the Mexican Army and Navy, dismantled an illegal drug greenhouse and seized weapons, ammunition and fragmentation grenades during two raids in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas.

The searches were carried out under two court orders in the communities of Chiquilá and Solferino. Investigative police also arrested a Cuban national identified as Raimi N. on suspicion of drug possession and illegal possession of a firearm.

Weapons and grenades found in Chiquilá

At the first property, located on Jacinto Canek Street at the corner with Mar de Galilea in the Veracruzana neighborhood, authorities found three 7.62mm firearms, one .223mm firearm, two fragmentation grenades, a metal object resembling a grenade launcher, 273 live 7.62mm rounds, 33 live .223mm rounds and 15 loaded magazines. They also seized tactical vests, tactical pants, communication radios, gram scales, dry green vegetation resembling marijuana and a solid substance.

Greenhouse discovered in Solferino

At the second property, on Agustín de Iturbide Street between Emiliano Zapata and Francisco Villa streets in Solferino, officers located a greenhouse containing potted plants resembling marijuana, along with dry green vegetation.

During the operation, agents detained Raimi N. on Libertad Street in Chiquilá, where they said he was found carrying a long 9mm firearm and transparent bags containing dry green vegetation.

Both properties were sealed and placed under the custody of the State Prosecutor’s Office. The seized evidence and the suspect were handed over to the corresponding authorities, who will determine his legal status within the constitutional deadline.
