Cancún, Mexico – A group of individuals broke into the facilities of Galenia Hospital, located on Tulum Avenue in this city, during the early hours of Thursday to carry out an armed robbery.
Preliminary information indicates that around 3 a.m., the suspects threatened employees before taking various valuable items from them.
The perpetrators fled the scene in vehicles, prompting security authorities to mobilize after a report was made to the 911 emergency number.
Municipal Police officers arrived at the site as first responders; later, personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security as well as federal authorities arrived, initiating a search operation with support from cameras at the Security Complex (C5).
Investigative agents and forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office arrived at the site to conduct inquiries into the incident.
Hours later, the Attorney General’s Office confirmed the robbery, emphasizing that it continues to monitor and analyze footage from both the hospital and C5 cameras to identify those responsible. The total value of the stolen items remains unknown at this time.
The legal representative of Galenia Hospital will be responsible for providing information and data to help authorities clarify this violent robbery.
