Alleged Killer Caught in Cancún After Traffic Stop

Alleged homicide suspect known as 'El Sobrino' being arrested by police in Cancún

Cancún, Quintana Roo — A man identified as an alleged homicide suspect was detained in the Tres Reyes neighborhood of Cancún after committing an administrative infraction, which led to the execution of an outstanding arrest warrant for high-impact crimes, security authorities reported.

The suspect, Anthony Isrrael “N”, alias “El Sobrino”, was captured by elements of the Investigation Group of the Secretariat of Citizen Security. The operation also included support from personnel of the Secretariat of the Navy during preventive patrols in the municipality of Benito Juárez.

According to the official report, agents observed the subject crossing the street recklessly, so they stopped their unit to avoid an accident. Upon noticing the police presence, the individual reacted aggressively, making obscene gestures and hurling insults at the officers.

After proceeding with the interview, the officers verified his information in the C5 Security Complex system, where they confirmed he had an outstanding arrest warrant for the crimes of qualified homicide and injuries.

The detention occurred on an unnamed street near the establishment “El Madrigal”. Finally, the alleged homicide suspect was secured and placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office, the authority that will follow up on the corresponding legal process.
