Aguakan Invests 7 Million Pesos in New Sewer Line in Puerto Morelos

Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — Aguakan has started construction of an 18-inch sanitary sewer line connecting Villas Morelos II with Villas Morelos IV, a project worth more than 7 million pesos that will directly benefit 5,500 residents.

The company said the new line will have the capacity to serve more than 10,100 people as demand grows in the future. Work began on October 12 and is scheduled to run through December 12.

The project is aimed at improving the sanitary drainage system by expanding its capacity to carry wastewater. Crews will install new pipe along the stretch that links the two neighborhoods.

Work staged in two phases to limit disruption

“The work is being carried out manhole to manhole in two stages: the first on Zetina Gasca street and the second on Delfín street, with the goal of reducing the inconvenience for residents,” said Wilfrido Dimas, Aguakan’s works supervisor. “The tasks include demolishing pavement, excavating trenches, installing the new pipe and restoring the affected roadways.”

Aguakan said it will place warning signs in the work zone and keep municipal authorities and the Traffic Department informed so that pedestrians and drivers stay safe and traffic keeps moving through the area.
