A commemorative earthquake drill was held in Quintana Roo for National Civil Protection Day. The drill happened on Thursday afternoon at the municipal DIF building. The exercise simulated the evacuation and rescue of building workers impacted by an earthquake. Firefighters, civil protection brigade members, and paramedics all participated in the drill.

As part of the drill, an earthquake alarm was sounded. Firefighters and paramedics then quickly responded to the building to assist individuals who might be suffering from nervous breakdowns. The drill lasted for about 30 minutes. This allowed time for the evacuation, rescue, and care of individuals who might have fainted or experienced nervous breakdowns.
