Uber has announced its return to Cancún International Airport following a favorable court ruling. The decision comes after a period of tension and violence, during which Uber drivers were attacked by local taxi drivers.

In a statement, Uber confirmed that a judge has granted them a definitive suspension, allowing them to operate in the airport vicinity without the need for additional permits or concessions. Users have reported that since Thursday, August 15, they can now request Uber services at the airport. They also noted that Uber's rates are significantly lower compared to traditional taxis.

To safeguard its drivers from potential conflicts with authorities or taxi drivers, Uber has provided a comprehensive guide outlining what to do if asked for receipts or if there's an attempt to issue a violation. If a police officer insists on issuing a fine, Uber advises drivers to ensure the ticket specifies that the ride was facilitated through the Uber platform. This would serve as evidence for any future legal proceedings.

Uber reaffirms its commitment to supporting its drivers and promises to continue providing 24-hour support to address any issues that may arise.
