This summer, travelers touching down at Tulum International Airport will be welcomed with a special treat – a complimentary cocktail. This initiative is part of a dynamic program involving various local restaurants and institutions. For the program's launch, students from Tulum's Technological University had the opportunity to prepare these unique drinks for tourists.
Jorge Molina Pérez, the general director of Tourism and Economy, shared that visitors were delighted with the unique cocktails on offer. These included the Ola Rosa, a strawberry liqueur-based cocktail, and a mezcal cocktail featuring scorpion and grasshopper, both created with local ingredients. This free sampling event aimed to encourage more Tulum businesses to participate in the program.
The cocktails, inspired by the vibrant colors, enticing aromas, and stunning architecture of Tulum, were offered free of charge to all travelers. The event was not only a treat for the taste buds but also a cultural experience, featuring traditional dance performances for both national and foreign tourists.
Molina Pérez further explained that the goal is for tourists to continue finding these unique cocktails, either complimentary or sold by local establishments. The focus is on offering something different from the typical cocktails, something more in tune with the essence of Tulum. "We plan to include more businesses and promote the program at the tourists' departure airports, many of which are in the United States and Mexico. This way, travelers will already be excited about the unique Tulum experience awaiting them upon arrival," he said.
