Estefanía Mercado, the incoming mayor of Solidaridad, along with elected councilors and young volunteers, took part in a major cleanup operation in Puerto Aventuras. The cleanup was led by Irazú Sarabia May, the Secretary of Public Works, and aimed to restore the urban image of the region after it was hit by Hurricane Beryl.

Mercado and her team decided to participate in this large-scale cleanup day, the first since Hurricane Beryl, in response to calls from Governor Mara Lezama and Mayor Gilberto Gómez Martínez. They urged the cleaning of the urban area of Puerto Aventuras.

"Solidaridad, Playa del Carmen, and Puerto Aventuras deserve to be clean places to live. The entire municipality has the support of the Governor, and that's the main reason we're here," said Mercado.

During the cleanup, Mercado reiterated her commitment to addressing the current neglect of Puerto Aventuras once she assumes her role as mayor. She praised the efforts of the volunteer team and highlighted the Governor's affection for Puerto Aventuras.

"This is a demonstration of what a dedicated volunteer team can achieve. More importantly, it shows the Governor's love for Puerto Aventuras. By joining forces and working together, we can make significant changes," Mercado said.
