Cozumel, Mexico — The Foundation of Parks and Museums of Cozumel (FPMC) will inaugurate the exhibition "Humanidad Migrante" by renowned international painter and muralist Enrique Chiu on August 29 at 8:00 p.m. at the Museo de la Isla. The exhibition utilizes plastic arts, photographs, installations, and audiovisual resources to invite the public to delve into the emotions and experiences surrounding the migratory phenomenon.

The general director of the FPMC, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, highlighted that the institution promotes dignified spaces for both emerging artists and established creators to share their work with the public in Cozumel, as well as with national and international visitors. She emphasized that the Museo de la Isla has established itself as an artistic showcase of global projection, aligned with the New Agreement for Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo led by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa.

The director of the Museo de la Isla, Isela Carrillo Cupul, noted that Enrique Chiu, originally from Jalisco, has an international career that has led him to participate in more than 600 exhibitions in Mexico and abroad, 41 percent of which have been solo shows. Recognized for his mural work, he has created more than 460 cause-related works in different regions of the country and in border areas, in addition to collaborating in more than 80 cultural festivals, receiving multiple national and international distinctions.

Carrillo Cupul explained that in the exhibition "Humanidad Migrante," the artist captures the stories, emotions, and challenges of those who cross physical and emotional borders in search of a better life. Through painting, photography, installations, and audiovisual material, Chiu invites reflection on the reality of the migratory phenomenon.

Furthermore, she indicated that the exhibition is closely linked to the "Mural de la Hermandad," an initiative led by the artist that transformed a section of the border wall between Mexico and the United States into a powerful symbol of peace, solidarity, and hope.

The invitation was reiterated for the community and tourists to attend the inauguration of "Humanidad Migrante" on August 29 at 8:00 p.m. at the Museo de la Isla to enjoy an artistic experience with a social and human message.
