Quintana Roo, Mexico — Women across eight municipalities in Quintana Roo now have the opportunity to earn their primary or secondary education certificates by taking a single exam on July 19, 2025. The initiative, part of the state and federal program “Mujer Es Aprender” (Woman Is to Learn), targets women aged 18 and older in Lázaro Cárdenas, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Tulum, José María Morelos, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Bacalar, and Othón P. Blanco.
Streamlined Certification Process
The program, led by the Secretary for Women (Semujeres), the Secretary of Education of Quintana Roo (SEQ), and the State Institute for Adult Education (Ieeja), eliminates bureaucratic hurdles by requiring only one exam for certification. Participants must register via the link https://acortar.link/f6AYAN and review study guides available at https://acortar.link/rirCM9.
For additional information, applicants may contact 983 129 3071 (extension 111) or the 24-hour SEMUJERES hotline at 800 500 95 59.
Combating Educational Disparities
“Mujer Es Aprender” addresses educational gaps and illiteracy by empowering women through accessible certification. Since its launch, 117 women have received diplomas, with a 2025 goal of certifying 2,500 more.
Indigenous Mayan communities receive additional support, including translators to assist women during exams. All services are free and available at Semujeres delegation offices statewide.
The program underscores Quintana Roo’s commitment to gender equity and educational access.
