Cozumel, Mexico — The Foundation of Parks and Museums of Cozumel (FPMC) successfully concluded its first-semester Singing Workshop with a musical evening featuring 26 students of varying ages. The event, held at the auditorium of the Museum of the Island, showcased 20 performances spanning diverse musical genres.
A Platform for Artistic Growth
Coordinated by the Directorate of Pedagogy and Social Assistance (PAS), the closing ceremony allowed participants to demonstrate their vocal technique progress through solo, duet, quartet, and group performances. Students selected their own songs, reflecting personal tastes and preferred styles, including ranchera, bolero, and ballads.
For some attendees, the event marked their first time on stage—a significant milestone in their artistic development and an opportunity to overcome stage fright. Others used the platform to refine their musical style and explore genres of interest, highlighting the workshop’s role in fostering diverse artistic trajectories.
Institutional Commitment to the Arts
Argelia Chacón Díaz, the workshop instructor, commended the students’ dedication and growth on behalf of FPMC General Director Juanita Alonso Marrufo. She reiterated the foundation’s commitment to promoting cultural and artistic expression, aligning with the New Agreement for Wellbeing and Development of Quintana Roo, led by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa.
The event underscored FPMC’s ongoing efforts to nurture local talent and provide accessible avenues for creative expression within the community.
