Violent Incident in Tulum: Vehicle Engulfed in Flames

In the early hours of Thursday, local authorities responded to an emergency call on the Tulum-Muyil federal highway 307, near kilometer 212. The call was made by a passerby who reported hearing gunshots followed by a fire off a nearby dirt road, 200 meters from the main highway.

Upon investigation, authorities confirmed that the fire was from a vehicle that appeared to have been intentionally set ablaze. Emergency services, including units from the Public Security Unit, firefighters, and Civil Protection personnel, were immediately dispatched to the scene.

However, due to the vehicle's location on a dirt trail, emergency services had difficulty reaching it quickly. As a result, the flames completely engulfed the vehicle, making it impossible to identify the type of vehicle involved.

As of now, authorities have not confirmed if there were any victims involved in the incident. The area has been cordoned off to allow the State Attorney General's Office to conduct further investigations.
