The town of Tulum has made a significant stride in animal protection with the initiation of its first Animal Welfare Center. This center is designed to cater to not only dogs and cats but any species in need of medical care, food, or a secure refuge.
The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo. He underscored that the center symbolizes a strong commitment to animal welfare and a more compassionate and mindful approach to community development.
"This center is a manifestation of our love, responsibility, and respect for all life forms. In Tulum, we believe that all lives are valuable and deserve care, medical attention, and dignified treatment," stated the mayor during the event.
The project aims to establish a facility equipped to offer veterinary services, recovery areas, temporary housing, food, and holistic care for abandoned, mistreated, or endangered animals. Additionally, the center is expected to serve as a hub for responsible adoption and education on animal welfare.
Local officials emphasized that this initiative is part of a larger public policy aimed at promoting respect for all living beings and strengthening the values of peaceful coexistence within the community.
"The establishment of this center underscores that animal welfare is a fundamental component of our vision for a more equitable, compassionate, and united Tulum," Mayor Castañón Trejo concluded.
