The Lomas Foundation I.A.P., a non-profit organization focused on advancing education, has allocated 6.2 million pesos in scholarships and other support for 426 individuals. This initiative aims to help both young and adult learners continue their education and secure employment in the Mexican Caribbean's tourism industry.
The foundation's impact has been amplified through the support of strategic partners, including the Lomas Group, Nacional Monte de Piedad, the Trust for Children of Mexico: Todos en Santander (from Banco Santander), CFEnegía, and the SANCUS Foundation. Together, these organizations are transforming lives through education, according to Jessy Leyva, the foundation's manager.
In 2024, the Lomas Foundation expanded its support services, offering academic scholarships, transportation assistance, and living stipends. They also developed paid internships and training programs to enhance soft skills. The foundation's goal extends beyond financial aid, aiming to strengthen students' skills to ensure their continued success in education.
The foundation's four programs have benefited 426 individuals, including children, teenagers, and adults. The majority of beneficiaries were teenagers and young adults (64%), followed by children (34%), and adults (6%). In terms of gender distribution, 55.1% of the beneficiaries were women and 44.9% were men, demonstrating a balanced impact on the community.
The Lomas Foundation also recently renewed its Accreditation in Institutionality and Transparency for 2024-2026, awarded by CEMEFI. This reflects the foundation's commitment to transparency and accountability. Leyva noted that this recognition not only celebrates the foundation's achievements but also underscores the importance of collaboration and innovation in shaping a future defined by a love for Mexico, community development, and talent promotion.
