Playa del Carmen, QRoo — With the participation of Municipal President Estefanía Mercado, representatives from the National Housing Commission (Conavi), and the state delegation of Welfare Programs, the Informative Assembly of the Housing for Well-being Program was held this Wednesday, benefiting 1,315 people.

From the Poliforum of the Playa del Carmen Sports Unit, accompanied by Deyanira Martínez, Secretary of Social Justice and Citizen Participation, Estefanía Mercado emphasized that access to decent housing is a human right that must be guaranteed with social justice, transparency, and institutional sensitivity.

Before families, workers, and a significant number of young participants, Estefanía Mercado stated that the beneficiaries did not attend by chance, but in exercise of a right, “the right to have a safe, own, and dignified home.”

In this context, she acknowledged the support of the Government of Mexico and thanked President Claudia Sheinbaum, highlighting that the Housing for Well-being Program responds to a public policy vision that places people at the center and recognizes housing as a fundamental right.

Similarly, she expressed her gratitude to Governor Mara Lezama, whom she described as a permanent ally of the municipality, for her closeness and commitment to ensuring these programs translate into concrete benefits for Playa del Carmen families.

The Municipal President reiterated that the local government will accompany participants throughout the entire process, to guarantee clear rules, equity, and transparency, “because behind each registration there are stories of daily effort and work, therefore, the institutional commitment is to ensure that the exercise is carried out in adherence to legality and for the benefit of the community.”
