Mérida, Yuc. — The Yucatecan Institute of Entrepreneurs (IYEM) has presented "Fusión Viva," a program designed to link artisans with designers and creatives to co-create innovative projects that strengthen the local economy and project the state's cultural richness.

The State Government, through the IYEM, is inviting artisans and creative professionals—such as architects, designers, decorators, and other specialists—to participate in the "Fusión Viva" training program. This initiative seeks to foster collaboration, co-creation, and the strengthening of projects with a Yucatecan identity.

During a press conference held at the Institute's facilities, the head of the IYEM, Salvador Vitelli Macías, underscored the relevance of this activity. He stated that it will allow artisans to integrate into the market of fashion, style, and decoration, also known as the orange economy, which has an estimated annual value of 67 billion dollars.

"The call is aimed at people over 18 years of age, residents of Yucatán, who can demonstrate experience in disciplines such as industrial, graphic, textile, or interior design, photography, creative direction, illustration, and architecture, as well as in trades and artisanal techniques like traditional textiles, pottery, plant fibers, carved wood, artisanal jewelry, masks, natural dyes, and other expressions of folk art," he detailed.

The official emphasized that this program drives the development of local economies, as artisans are the state's first entrepreneurs and should have opportunities for growth from within their communities.

The training sessions will be held on September 25 and October 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2025, from 12:00 to 14:30 hours. The format promotes the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and the creation of networks between the creative and artisanal sectors.

To participate, interested parties must have a brand or a project under construction or in operation, as well as full availability for the program's dates. The selection process will value the willingness to collaborate, the active production of representative pieces, and openness to sharing knowledge with other sectors.

Registration can be completed online through the site iyem.yucatan.gob.mx/fusionviva or in person at the IYEM's Directorate of Artisanal Development. The registration deadline is September 8, and the results will be published on September 12.

With "Fusión Viva," the IYEM reaffirms its commitment to boosting Yucatán's creative and artisanal economy, strengthening cultural identity, and generating opportunities for local talent to grow and gain recognition.
