Mérida, Yucatán — Naomi Canto, a 28-year-old nursing graduate from Yucatán, will represent the state in the Reina México 2026 beauty pageant, with the winner advancing to the Miss Top Model International competition in Peru.

Canto, who is bilingual in Spanish and English and stands 1.75 meters tall, earned her spot after standing out among other participants. The national pageant runs from March 26 to 28 in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco, featuring top representatives from across Mexico.

The semifinal takes place on March 27 at 10 p.m., followed by the national final on March 28 at 7:30 p.m. Organizers will stream both events on the official Reina México social media accounts on Instagram (@reina.mexico) and Facebook (Reina México Official).

The Reina México pageant, led by director Luis Alberto Martínez from Jalisco, has grown into one of the country’s prominent beauty contests since its inception by independent producers and regional organizations. It emphasizes cultural identity and social projects alongside beauty and talent.

Canto, who has organized food drives and toy donations for vulnerable communities in Yucatán and supported patients at hospitals in Mérida, aims to use the platform to advocate for those in need. “Her vocation of service defines her,” the announcement noted.

The current Miss Top Model International titleholder is Mexican Fernanda Zare.
