Cancún, Mexico — A young woman, approximately 20 years old, was killed by multiple gunshots on Thursday night on Avenida 127 in this city.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. when the victim was outside a Similares pharmacy in the company of two other young people.
According to witnesses, subjects in a pickup truck pulled up alongside and fired directly at the young woman at least seven times.
Paramedics from Civil Protection arrived at the scene and confirmed that the young woman no longer had vital signs.
The area was cordoned off by police officers, after which forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office took charge of removing the young woman’s body.
One of the young men accompanying the victim was detained at the scene for refusing to give a statement about what had occurred.
The young woman’s body was finally transferred to the Forensic Medical Service, where it is expected to be claimed by her relatives.
As of now, there are no arrests.
