Cancún, Quintana Roo — A young woman has publicly accused an assistant manager at a Little Caesar’s restaurant in Cancún of sexually assaulting her on October 31 of this year.
According to her testimony, that night she was called into the office by assistant manager Joshua L. C., who closed the door once she was inside and began touching her without consent, first on her chest and buttocks, and kissing her. The victim stated that the man subsequently sexually assaulted her.
According to accounts from family members, the young woman claimed the assistant manager allegedly disconnected the security cameras before the incident, which they suggest could indicate premeditation. They also noted that the small office space and physical difference between them prevented the victim from defending herself.
After the incident, a manager identified as José Francisco N. reportedly noticed the young woman was distressed and, according to the family, decided to send her home. Upon arriving home, the victim told her parents what happened, who went to the establishment and later filed a formal rape complaint with authorities.
The family expressed dissatisfaction, denouncing alleged legal agreements between the parties without their knowledge and resolutions made without them being notified. They mentioned that when sharing their case, they have warned that there might be more employees who have experienced similar situations, though they clarified this is only a hypothesis based on comments they’ve heard and not proven facts.
Therefore, they indicated they seek to maintain a confidential communication mechanism so anyone who has gone through something similar can approach them confidentially.
The family expressed fear of unwanted approaches, since after sharing their experience with some people to seek guidance, workers from the branch allegedly began sending messages to the young woman believing she had disseminated information about the case. They claim this causes concern due to her emotional state.
Regarding the legal process, the family expressed dissatisfaction, stating they learned there were allegedly agreements between lawyers from both parties without them being notified. They recounted that even a scheduled hearing didn’t develop as expected and they later learned of resolutions made without their knowledge.
