Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A group of women spray-painted the former Playa del Carmen municipal palace on Tuesday night in a protest following an International Women’s Day march earlier in the day.
The graffiti was concentrated on the building’s facade, specifically targeting the reception area, human resources department, and the office of the municipal clerk.
Among the spray-painted messages were names of men accused of being aggressors and perpetrators of femicide, along with protest slogans including “We were all there,” “Procedural violence,” and “Enough of vicarious violence.”
The women also posted images of alleged aggressors and banners with various slogans on the walls.
Municipal Public Security officers entered the site afterward to contain the situation and secure the area.
Unlike last year’s incident, authorities reported no damage inside the offices of the former municipal palace.
Police officials have not reported any arrests related to the graffiti.
