Deadly Crash in Cancún Involving Urvan, Tricycle, and Motorcycle

Cancún, Mexico — A woman died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle during a collision involving a tricycle, a motorcycle, and a Nissan Urvan van on Gas Auto Highway near the informal settlement of Santa Cecilia.

Details of the Accident

The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. when a tricycle entered the highway from an unnamed dirt road without yielding to an Italika motorcycle traveling on the main roadway. The impact ejected both the tricycle driver and passenger into the opposite lane.

At that moment, a white Nissan Urvan traveling in the opposite direction struck the female passenger of the motorcycle, leaving her lifeless on the pavement.

Aftermath and Investigation

Following the collision, the tricycle driver fled the scene. Paramedics arrived shortly after and confirmed the woman had no vital signs.

Police cordoned off the area as forensic experts conducted investigations, including transporting the victim’s body to the Medical Forensic Service. The vehicles involved were impounded.

The case remains under investigation by authorities.
