Cancun, Mexico — Yessica Guadalupe “N,” a woman under investigation for alleged links to a criminal cell involved in extortion, drug dealing, and crimes committed with firearms in the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres, was arrested in Cancun during an operation carried out in the Corales subdivision.
The arrest took place on 2nd Street South, between 78th and 76th Streets in Superblock 77, where state and federal authorities were conducting surveillance and investigation operations.
According to the Quintana Roo Secretariat of Citizen Security, the woman was located while handling several plastic bags. During a search, authorities reported the seizure of a handbag containing 80 packets of a green, dried plant material resembling marijuana, as well as 17 doses of a white substance resembling cocaine.
In addition, a cell phone was seized and placed under the custody of ministerial authorities as part of the ongoing investigations.
Following her arrest, Yessica Guadalupe “N” was placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Combating Drug Trafficking, the agency responsible for determining her legal status for alleged crimes against health.
