MEXICO CITY — The airline Viva Aerobus has presented the second aircraft to honor Alberto Aguilera Valadez, better known as Juan Gabriel. The event was attended by his son, Jean Gabriel Aguilera, who, alongside Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva, unveiled a brand new Airbus A320 bearing the image of the "Divo de Juárez."
The aircraft features the legend "Juan Gabriel Eterno" in golden letters, and its tail displays an image of the singer doing what he did best. Accompanied by El Mariachi del Divo de Juárez, classic songs such as "Una vez más" and "Enamorado y feliz" were sung while images of Juan Gabriel were shared in the background.
The Voice of Juan Gabriel Is Alive
This year marked nine years since his passing, but this does not mean his legacy and production have ended. According to his record label, Virgin Music, Juan Gabriel worked for many years, so there is "too much material and voices." From this, it is known that there will be more releases of unreleased music without the need for intervention using Artificial Intelligence.
A bit of foresight, another of production, and much more of the "Divo de Juárez."
Ten Years Without Juan Gabriel
August 2026 will mark the anniversary of Juan Gabriel's death, which will complete a decade. His son, Jean Gabriel Aguilera, mentioned that it will be celebrated in Ciudad Juárez. Although Alberto Aguilera was born in Michoacán, the legend of Juan Gabriel has its cradle in the Chihuahuan border city.
"We are planning, but we are doing something big for Juárez. So that the legacy of my dad is taught and that it still maintains that love for him," his son stated in an interview with Animal MX.
Regarding the second aircraft revealed in honor of Juan Gabriel, Jean mentioned that even though his father is no longer alive, people continue to honor his memory, highlighting that the Divo had a "gift." He also emphasized that there is material for a while, so more albums will be released via Virgin Music.
"I am very proud as a son celebrating the life and legacy of my dad. My dad had a gift for knowing the future and feeling it; I think that's why he left us so many unreleased voices to work on that," he added.
The Juan Gabriel aircraft will begin its inaugural flight on Friday, September 12, on the Monterrey–Ciudad Juárez route operated by Viva with three daily frequencies. This flight will feature songs by the legendary singer-songwriter in the cabin for those on board.
