Dzitas, Yucatan — A 55-year-old American man died Monday night while traveling on a tourist bus bound for Cancun.
According to initial reports, the passenger began feeling unwell during the journey. The driver noticed the man was unresponsive and stopped in the municipality of Dzitas to request emergency assistance.
Paramedics from the Public Security Department (SSP) arrived and confirmed the man had no vital signs.
Preliminary information suggests the death may have been caused by a cardiac arrest.
Municipal and state police cordoned off the area while personnel from the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) were notified to carry out the corresponding procedures and remove the body.
