The Solidaridad government generously donated two plots of land to the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in 2023 for the construction of two Family Medicine Units. As the original deadline for the completion of these projects was rapidly approaching, the IMSS requested an extension.
Recognizing the importance of these healthcare units, the city government approved a two-year extension for the IMSS. This extension allows the IMSS time to build the two units, failing which the land would revert back to the municipal administration.
With the original deadline only a few months away, the Decentralized Administration Services of the IMSS requested this extension. The city council members unanimously approved the extension, allowing the federal department to proceed with the necessary procedures to initiate the construction and operation of the two medical units.
